Job description
Country Lead is one of the most diverse and intense positions at Triggerise: it requires strategic thinking and operational passion, budget management rigor and operational creativity, people skills and curiosity. The Country Lead needs excellent team management skills and external representation talent, which involves interfacing with small, informal businesses as well as large multinationals, government representatives and development partners. The Country Lead works closely with the global teams to build and grow the networks and brands, implement and optimize Triggerise technology and bring in new business and partnerships.
The general purpose of the Country Lead is to set-up, develop and grow Triggerise activities, ecosystem, brands, partnerships and, ultimately, its impact in Tanzania. The top line definition of this role is to develop the local market in line with Triggerise’s global strategy taking the local context and priorities into account and focusing on three major areas:
Management: Responsible for the overall strategy and the day-to-day management of the country programme, employees and partners, using its resources efficiently and in accordance with the approved budget.
Impact: Grow the impact Triggerise generates in Malawi through the implementation and expansion of its products and brands, the networks of actors partnering into its ecosystem, based on a sound understanding of the local context, health and economic challenges and market forces, government policies and regulations and in coherence with the global vision and strategy. Special attention must be given to the selection and training of the ecosystem actors in line with set profiles leveraged for local conditions.
Growth: Champion Triggerise with multiple external stakeholders in order to build strong partnerships, raise funds, and participate in Triggerise’s innovation journey in line with the product strategy. This includes collaboration with national and local governments and other representative bodies, foreign embassies, leading non-governmental organizations in Malawi and commercial entities.
