Job Description
Main purpose of the Job:
- Will have overall responsibility of managing, planning, and directing the processing of meat and processed meat products.
- Will manage the production of meat products safely and consistently within quality specifications and price parameters.
- Will control the activities of the meat processing team members to meet production needs and ensure efficient operation of their assigned area of responsibility.
- Will continual interaction with abattoir, sales team and suppliers.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Qualified butcher/block man or similar qualification
- Minimum of 8-10 experience in meat processing, abattoir and butchery practices, of which at least 3 years is at supervisory level
- Proven people management skills
- Detailed knowledge about applicable international standards in food health, safety, and quality management practices.
- High degree of computer numeracy and literacy
